My Dad Stanley
Worked hard he was a printer for the local paper in Coffs Harbour the Advocate, in Rotary, in indoor cricket, horse racing, racing hill climb cars, push bikes, he lived Rock n Roll Music all this over a short lifetime.
This Man was my Dad my stepfather yet My Dad. Stanley taught me how to have character, work hard and how to tell stories and jokes. We would drive from Sawtell to the Coffs Hirse racing club where he would tend to the horse while I ran the link road from Coffs to Toormina as training for the school cross country run I had to get as far as I could in 1 hour this was a 20 minute drive. He taught me to drive in my baby poo brown Corolla station wagon.
He was an awesome Grandfather. Oh we butted heads I got grounded for the rest of my life once well...that's another story.
My only regret that I have is I never got to cut his hair and give him a port with his cut. This was what he loved the most about the barber he went to Cobb & Co he would always talk about it to me as a kid.
Out of my Dads love and exsperience my salon manifested the way it has appreciation of art, for grooming Men's hair and beards and don't forget the shave. Having a wholesome chat and banter. Oh a sneaky beverage might happen or not...
I even named my barber chairs like he did his cars, mowers and various things. One chair is Stanley and Bessie and Wilson along with a story for each chair.
Why did I write about my Dad he was my Hero my confidant my mentor my disciplinarian whom raised me with my values of today.
In honour of my Dad Stanley Happy Fathers Day to ALL the types of Dads out there remember littles eyes and ears are paying attention and learning their values so make a great impact Dads
